The exhibition “China: Through the Looking Glass” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will be ending on September 7th. The exposition was the inspiration for this year traditional “Met Gala Ball” and the celebrities looks at the Red Carpet were a show by itself.
The exposition shows costumes, paintings, porcelains, films and other arts symbolizing the Chinese history and was organized with collaboration between The Costume Institute and the Department of Asian Art.
“China: Through the Looking Glass” features more than 140 examples of dresses – haute couture, avant-garde and ready-to-wear – representing the culture and history of China. It has very luxurious designer displays like Guo Pei, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
